To get this peer acknowledgement is huge - Ren Gianquitto

In the sixth part of the Celebrating Success: Blog Series on the Impact of Awards on Career and Business, following The Freshies in June organised by Fresh Perspective, today we talk to the lovely Renata Gianquitto

Enjoy!

1.Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
I am a coaching and wellbeing specialist and NLP practitioner, founder of Wren Coaching & Wellbeing. I chose the name wren because it is a play on words – my friends call me Ren but a wren is also a small bird with a powerful voice. If you look at my logo, the wren breaks free from the circle after finding its voice which I think is a great metaphor to represent how I help my clients.

I offer my services on a 121 and group basis, and just launched an EAP service as well as qualifying as a mental health first aid Instructor.

I work with both children and adults, empowering people establish a better relationship with themselves by educating them about how our mind works and how we can emotionally help ourselves. I have a special interest in working with charities and making a difference in our community, I love what I do and I am excited to keep sharing.

2. What award did you win, and why is this award significant to you?
I won the Wellbeing Award. It takes so much self-belief to keep going, even when you have a lot of experience in emotional wellbeing and there have been times when I have asked myself whether it is actually going to work, so to get this peer acknowledgement is huge. I am hoping it will also give people who don't know me and understanding of what I do and how I can help them.

3. How did you feel when you found out you had won the award?
It felt surreal, there were so many great people in the category, and I am such a small business, there were so many worthy winners, so it’s not an easy category.

4. What role do you believe awards and recognition play in motivating individuals and enhancing performance?
They provide self-belief and recognition for the work that I have done. It’s a moment to stop and take in and realise how far I have come. It’s a huge motivation. I think it’s such a kind thing to do, to raise people’s profiles like mine.

5. So what next, how will receiving this award influence your goals and future aspirations?
This is a massive boost for my confidence and I am still on a high. I feel stronger to get out there, looking forward to get introductions to more businesses and charities and hold to this confidence to do more good in our community.

Thank you Ren for talking to me and sharing your insights - this was the first time I had met Ren via an online call and it was so lovely to hear her story and about everything that she does. I then had the opportunity to meet Ren in person at the Wrap Party last Thursday afternoon which was so lovely and really looking forward to learning more about Ren's work in due course.

This is the category criteria for the Wellbeing Warrior Award and the passion that comes across when talking to Ren about her work and approach in general, it is a thorough well deserved award:

This award recognises those that look after the welfare, health and happiness of others 💚
Even if it is not necessarily their recognised job title!
