It is so nice that our peers have recognised this - Lisa Sourbutts

In the seventh part of the Celebrating Success: Blog Series on the Impact of Awards on Career and Business, following The Freshies in June organised by Fresh Perspective, today we talk to the lovely Lisa Sourbutts from CubeHR

Enjoy!

1.Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

I have been in HR for 20 years in August this year and it's my vocation to put people first in the workplace.  I set up CubeHR 6 years ago after becoming fed up with corporate and people just being a number.  We have 6 people now in the team and we are going from strength to strength.

2. What award did you win, and why is this award significant to you?

CUBE HR won Most Treasured Team which I am so pleased about as this is so reflective about what we are all about.  We don't need an award to know how much we have all got each others backs but to receive this is just amazing.  It is so nice that our peers have recognised this.

 3. How did you feel when you found out you had won the award?

It felt great and I was so elated as everything we do is about team first. You always wonder if you're getting it right as a leader so to win that we are the most treasured team helps show that I am getting that right.

4. What role do you believe awards and recognition play in motivating individuals and enhancing performance?

Any award or recognition is a massive buzz, this is so good as its for the team.  It's about what we have done as a team and to see the people we were up against as well.  These are our peers and I look up to them and really respect them.

5. So what next, how will receiving this award influence your goals and future aspirations?

We won't do anything differently as such but we will sit down and review what we do well and continue to improve on that, we constantly do.

Thank you Lisa for talking to me and sharing your experience. This was the first time I had met Lisa via an online call and, as a fellow HR Consultancy Founder, it was so lovely to hear how Lisa has grown the business and how she is making sure her experiences from corporate set the scene for a very different offering that her business and team provide to their customers.

This is the category criteria for the Treasured Team Award and the energy and enthusiasm that comes across when speaking with Lisa and what she has created with the team, is absolutely reflected here:

This award goes to the brilliant business that goes above and beyond…

To engage with and care for their tremendous team members…

And those that believe their team is their most prized asset and consistently show them their appreciation ❤
